Visa: Brand Design

San Francisco, California

This multi-story atrium installation pays homage to Visa’s credit cards of the past while emphasizing the company’s culture of innovation with a view toward its future. Taking its inspiration from the ubiquitous magnetic stripe of a Visa card – and the fluidity of exchange it enables – the installation employs more than 1,500 credit cards to represent the past, present and future of payments. The piece evolves from traditional cards through a variety of treatments and materials – including paint, electrochrome and etching – to culminate in a pattern of LED lights projecting Visa’s digital future.
