San Jacinto College, Lee Davis Library

Pasadena, Texas

San Jacinto College’s Davis Library was in need of major renovations to increase efficiencies and better accommodate 21st-century learning. While remaining true to the building’s mid-century modern character, the renovation sought to improve functionality, serve as a laboratory for collaborative and interactive learning, and support community usage and involvement, while stimulating student engagement. The renovated library incorporates new classroom spaces, a relocated and improved campus learning/tutoring center, significantly increased private study space, and a newly conceived Cyber Café, along with highly adaptable technology, furniture systems, and built-in book and media systems that are designed to support future flexibility.
