LACMA

Los Angeles, California

Through a decade-long expansion campaign, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s campus has been transformed completely. Gensler worked with LACMA and Renzo Piano Building Workshop in developing and realizing a new vision for the entire LACMA campus. Major elements include the 72,000-square-foot Broad Contemporary Art Museum galleries, the 45,000-square-foot Resnick Pavilion, and a new entry canopy and central concourse. Gensler also worked closely with artist Chris Burden on siting and realizing his “Urban Light” installation that has become a Los Angeles icon, as well as with Robert Irwin on his campuswide landscape concept.
